BIDAYUH Kaya Raya

Good morning Jabbers;

You all are acutely aware that we as a small minority community is poor.

We have been told about this one thousand and one times.

We are constantly being reminded that we are a small minority community.

We have been told by Bidayuh businessmen that we lacked the necessary economic resources.

We have been told that it is difficult to make our community as major economic power in Sarawak.

We are told we just don,t have it.

Are these statements REAL or imaginary?

I have the feeling that these statements are like ghost.
They are not real but yet they continue to haunt us.
When told many times to those who are already scared, it becomes scarier.
When told to large groups of susceptible person, they will become hysterical.

Like ghost they are a major mental barrier towards Bidayuh Kaya Raya.

Why?

Look at what we a a community have.
Not many communities in Sarawak have these advantges.

Here are some partial lists.

1. LAND. Bidayuh have plenty of land. By plenty here I do not mean in terms of thousand of hectres. But in relative term we Bidayuh are rich in LAND. By how have we Bidayuh utilise these economic resources.

In circumstances where the land are titled, it was quickly sold off even before the land tittle is signed by the Director of Land and Survey.

In circumstances where the land is not surveyed, our elected politicians have not be effective in getting the L & Dept. to expediate the survey. So here is ONE structural weakness that we have. has anyboday here in Britong got a good idea or at least some proposal on how to monitise those unsurveyed NCR land.
What does the Bidayuh as a community intend to do to press the community's case to the CM?

2. WATER. Bidayuh have plenty of water. Large amounts of water down Batang Kayan. Why are the Bidayuh not compensated for happily donating these natural resources to the Water Boards. What are the Bidayuh going to do to work out a system for the Water Board to pay reasonable compensation.
Kuching Water Board extract water from Sg. Sarawak at Batu Kitang. How much has KWB paid to the Bidayuh living at Giam and Sg. Pinang? Why is there no mechanism for such payment? Why are our Bidayuh lawyers sleeping on their profession? Are our Bidayuh lawyers of third class?

3. Environment. The Bidayuh are rich in environment, yet when the Indonesian start to pollute our environment since 1997, we have not worked out a compensatory mechanism for payment for polluting the environment.

When the Mambong plant was constructed for Sarawak Clinker, what have our Bidayuh lawyers done to work out compensation for the local Mambongites? There are a number of prominant Bidayuh lawyers from that area. Are they third class? If they are so prominant, why did they not do anything?

4.Human resources.
At Federal level, we have a KSU. While the Kirieng built their Istana Idaman, and place sons and daugther in-law as councillor, is our somba approving any Approved Permit for Bidayuh or at the very least for Sendiri Sdn Bhd. If the Rafidah Aziz's can approve thousands for Naza, Donald Lawan etc... why is there no Bidayuh AP holder. Our somba was at one time the golden boy of Rafidah. So bila ragi mao appprove kamek empun AP? Kalo tidak bila lagi. It may take another 100 years for another Bidayuh to become a KSU.
At Fedelel gobmen level, we have a Bau man, who should be able to cut the paths for Bidayuh Kaya Raya. Has our Datuk done that? One must remember that when his time is over, it will probably take another 200 years for another Bidayuh to become a Deputy Felelel Minista. So think! Hopefully our Somba Cikgu, please remind the Deputy Minista about this REALITY. Kalo tak Tiki sapa lagi? Tak kan Aziz Shame You Didn't!
At State level, we have Datuk MM as Minista. And this only happened, 30 years after Panda Ngoreng. His time was different. He achieved nothing! Will our second ever Minister leave important Kaya Raya legacy to Bidayuh? Or will Bidayuh be door mats agains for Bisina Kaya Dunia? Will we stand up and be counted?
I know many Bidayuh supported him, socially and in many ways. But he is still a failure. Fail. Grade D.
It is obvious that the mechanism and stratgies he is pursuing and has been pursuing may be a failure. So he is a failure. What will he do to leave a permanent legacy in the Bidayuh community. Or will he takes the easy way out just like so many others before him and fade away.
Or will it be so embarrassing?
We have already have failures who accept to be Temengong. Won,t be surprise some totally shameless people will even accept to be Pemanca and Penghulu, especailly now that the KK system is part of gobmen machineries.

At gobmen level we have somaba Wilson. In tennis Wilson racket is famous. In gobmen he should be better. But has he done enough. I say, NO. He should do better. After all, when was the last Bidayuh a Deputy SS? If Somba Wilson cannot do it now, it will probably takes 1,000 years for another Bidayuh to be the Deputy SS. I say, Wilson has NOT done enough. And for that reasons, I shall call him FAIL. Grade D. Well he can get angry with me, but what the heck.
At the very least I have said what need to be said. Marah marah. Itu somba punya pasal. I say Somba wilson must do more to leave a permanent legacy in the Bidayuh community long after the lalang blows over him.

At DBNA level we have somba Pahon. Has he done a good job? Or has he done an excellent job. I say that he did a good job. Saya pun boleh buat good job. That is not good enough! For somba Pahon, good is not good enough! He must do better. He is not like you a me. So he should not be as good as us. He MUST be better!
Prove it. DBNA should have a bigger commercial HQ, just like the MIC and MCA and UMNO.
As of now, I say that Pahon is a failure! FAIL. Grade D.

So In conlcusion.
Bidayuh are well placed now.
The question is can those at the top exploit this open hunting season for the benefit of the Bidayuh?

This decade is potentially Bidayuh decade, but let us see whether we are blessed by the year 2010.

The ball is in your court, Datuk MM, Datuk TL, Datuk MD, Datuk WBD, Mr. President IP.

If these four top guns cannot delivers, don,t expect the other seven masketeers to do better. If the four flop, then it must be kumpulan empat sekawan, four stooges.

What do the rest have to say.

As for me, I hope the top four can prove me wrong. If I am 110% wrong I would be more than happy. if they can prove me 1000% wrong even better. So I can apoligise 1000 apoligies men sahip!
